It all started with a walk to protest the Stonewall Riots of 1970. Today it is one of the largest Pride festivals in the country, if not the world. What is it? It’s Chicago Pride Festival and it takes place each year on the last weekend of June. While there are events throughout the year, the Festival is a two day affair that ends with a massive parade through the Halsted Strip. You may think you’ve seen a big parade before, but when the attendance is measured in the hundreds of thousands you may just have to rethink. There are so many people who attend this parade that the course has had to be altered several times throughout its history just to accommodate everyone properly. That’s some parade!
Sure, other towns and cities have Pride events, but if you want to get to the largest one and be part of the action but don’t live near Chicago what will you do? Well, you can fly commercial and sit through the long waits at the airport, go through the tough security screening and then be stuck on an overcrowded jet. Or you can choose to make the weekend sparkle from beginning to end and charter a jet.
Now I know what you’re thinking: “that’ll be too expensive!” but you may be surprised at how reasonable chartering a jet can be. And think of the perks. You can leave when you want, not when the airline says. You know your luggage will arrive with you since you never leave it with airline strangers and best of all you have a comfortable flight, along with plenty of arm, shoulder, head and leg room. You can even configure the cabin however you wish, putting the chairs into rows or into conversational groups.
Food and of course on board lavatories are the norm and there is also plenty in the way of in flight entertainment too. You will have your own pilot and may be able to land at a smaller airport closer to your destination than you would with commercial flights.
So if you’re headed to Pride in Chicago and want to take in the music, the exhibits, the food, the drinks, the parade and the Pride fun, what are you waiting for? Look into chartering that jet as soon as possible! By the way, there is no attendance fee for Pride Chicago but the atmosphere is priceless!
